Mo’ne Davis Gets Drafted by the Harlem Globetrotters
Video: At 14-years old, Mo’ne Davis, the Little League phenom was DRAFTED by the Harlem Globetrotters on Tuesday. This is just months after the phenom made a cameo appearance during a Philadelphia game in March.
The team said in a statement it’s exercising a “Future Discovery Clause” to obtain rights to Davis, who will be entering ninth grade, when she graduates from college.
In addition to Davis, the Globetrotters drafted 2015 college slam dunk champion LaQuavius Cotton, U.S. women’s soccer player Alex Morgan, trick shot artists Dude Perfect, Wyoming’s Larry Nance Jr. and Hawaii Pacific point guard Kylie Huerta.
Unfortunately, Mo’ne won’t be able to join the squad yet because she’s about to begin high school … but the Globetrotters are hopeful they can work something out in the future.
Sources say, that the team is impressed with Davis when she played with the gang back in March … saying, “She fits the Globetrotter DNA. Great athlete, entertainer and personality.”
